Supplies Needed
The supply list for this simple DIY project is pretty short. I included instructions to add a dry erase marker holder that attaches to the frame, but it’s optional. Here’s what you’ll need:
- Picture frame with glass (I used an 8″x10″ frame for this project; choose a frame in a size and style that fits your needs)
- Scrapbook paper or fabric
- Paper cutter or scissors and ruler
- Cable clip organizer (Optional)
- Hot glue gun & glue stick (Optional)
- Skinny dry erase marker
Okay, now that supplies are out of the way, we’re ready to make your custom dry erase board!
How to Make a Custom Dry Erase Board
Here’s how to DIY your own dry erase board, step by step.
Step 1
First, use the paper cutter or scissors and ruler to cut the scrapbook paper or fabric to fit the frame.
Since my frame was 8″x10″, I cut my scrapbook paper into an 8″x10″ rectangle.
Step 2
Remove the back of the frame and set aside.
Place the scrapbook paper or fabric, face down, on top of the glass inside the frame.
Replace the back of the frame.
Step 3 (Optional)
Peel the paper backing off of the cable clip organizer.
Using a hot glue gun, glue the cable clip organizer to the side of the frame. Expo’s fine tip dry erase markers sit perfectly in the top of the cable clip organizer.
And that’s it! It’s super easy!
